Solar panels.
Schools waste energy. And a lot of it too. A much more clean way of generating electricity is the sun. Unlike the non renewable alternative of coal, the sun never runs out. There is no price after the initial investment of the panels. Unlike the non renewable alternative of oil, the sun has no scarcity or demand. Unlike the dangerous form of nuclear energy, the sun is safe and risk free.
Pros.Much cleaner than the alternatives
Very safe No demand No cost No scarcity No limit No gasses or exhaust |
Cons.Cost of installation
Repairs Space needed Cloudy days Reliability Risk of breaking |
Other than the initial cost and reliability, solar panels are a great way of energy generation. The sun's light is free and limitless. If schools across America implanted solar panels, the elecriticity bill would be little or even nothing. The only things needed are money, space, and time. Especially in the sun-belt states, schools with solar panels could power more than just the schools, and maybe some nearby municipalities. Maybe solar panels in schools would raise awareness towards homes and businesses in the area, causing them to also want to install solar panels.
